As they kicked me out of the Sleep 8 motel in Moab, I explained to them that I was sorry that I had over-revved my engine, but that I had honestly not seen the sign...
Parting shots
And one last story, on the way back I was bombing down the highway and saw one of those irrigation sprinkers that was right at the edge of the highway. It was spraying the entire road and there really wasn't any place for me to either slow down or get off, I just had to go through. So I crouched behind the windscreen as much as I could. SLOUGH WATER! The guy was pumping slough water through the irrigation pipes to water the crops. And thusly me! And it stinks! And not the stink that goes away, the kind of stink that soaks in to your clothing and just won't go away even after a half hour. The kind of stinky filmy water that sits on your windscreen and just sits there. Doesn't go away, doesn't evaporate, just turns kind of milky stinky white. |
