--Friday (Panguitch Lake, Bryce Canyon, Duck Creek) So we headed out under the guidance of Hiway Thunder to see the two mile point in the sky and then on to Panguitch Lake. And then to Bryce! Highest elevation on this trip was right around the 10,500 foot mark, so I made it two miles high. Bryce Canyon is a very, very pretty place. It is the place at the top of the mountain, Zion is the pretty place at the bottom of the mountain. Bryce has the hoodoos, Zion has the rock formations. Bryce has the vistas, Zion has the gorges. Bryce is cool and airy. Zion is as hot as a Mormon doing ... something! And something bad at that! The day starts out
It was neat driving with a group. Usually when I go riding I am with maybe two or three other people, so it was kind of refreshing to be in a larger group. True, it was a group of old guys and most of them were either starting to, or already had, a gut going, but it was still a group. And if you drove really fast no one really saw how old or out of shape we all were. So it was good. Can we talk about windburn? Sunburn? How about Warren putting on suntan lotion every two hours and still getting the Canuck burn? The Arizona guys were with me driving in the same direction and they still looked relatively pink. Me, I went Nova Scotia lobster red. And I still look that way as I write this.
