So, at one point I wanted to make sure that old Dusty was going to be up for the ride. My other horse, R4 has been to the mountains many times and is quite competent on the trail. But this was Dusty's first time on the trail and I wanted to make sure that before we went up any mountains that he was going to be up to the task, and what stupid things might he do. Well, it turns out that he is a pretty sensible horse, which was a great revelation for me! For an out of shape horse, he definitely can make it up a mountaintop. He comes down pretty fast too. And at the edge of a mountain - he doesn't jump! Elsewhere in my website I talk about our latest kitten litter, and they are suicidal in comparison. They will actually just walk off a tabletop, not a care in the world.
