Old Hemel

So, what do you do when you really want to ski but there just
isn't any snow? Make some up! And if that doesn't work, then make
up a suitable alternative. Which is what they did. If you take a
look at the second picture you will see that it looks like they
are using old carpet to act as the snowbase. There were enough
people here to make me assume this is a prosperous business.

The Hill!

The Material

So, where do you reside if you have an address like 77a Marlowes,
as compared to 77 or 79? See what looks to be a really nice
garage in the back? Yeah, well, that's an office.

So I continued on my journey around Hemel, aiming for the old
part of town, when what should assail my eyes, but yet another
church, couldn't resist taking a picture of their poster

It goes without saying at this point

And this is old Hemel. Quaint, isn't it!

And this is the church that goes with old Hemel, built
between 1142 and 1180 or something to that effect. Which kind of
makes sense since you must remember that just down the road at
Berkhamsted is one of the original sites of the 1066 William the
	Conqueror castles.
But, this is not like most of the cathedral shots I have
been giving you to date, this is a modest church. Old, but
small. Which will show in the photographs, the quire area
(choir area) is not nearly as big and does not have ornate
reading lamps or anything of that nature. And, more importantly
perhaps, no dead bodies inside that I could find, although I
didn't go up to the front area where they often exist.

And that rounds out the last month of activities for me:

	I hit some museums
		Albert and Victoria Museum
		Museum of London

	Did some shopping
		Harrolds of Knightsbridge

	Visited with relatives
		Jane

	Walked around Hemel Hempstead
		many times

	ummm,

Got a cold (still lingering as I write)

	Read some books
		Ken Follett
		Documentary on the Crusades
		Jack Higgins

It's been a quiet month, but that's okay, the last 2 were rather
	hectic, all truth be known.

So, it snows in England! Not much, but it snows. This lasted about 36 hours. First rain and it was gone.

Snow on a deck set

Bridge I walk over every day
