Castel Sant'Angelo

Meanwhile, Kim read up on Rome

This is what we bypassed by being here at 7 a.m.

Sadly, we never did make it in to the Sistine chapel. The line up
on the day we went was ginormous, and the Saturday that was
available turned out to be Epiphany (Jan 6) or Christmas to the
Julian Calendar people (silly Orthodox's) so that didn't work
out either. Pity too, I really wanted that one. So, suck it up,
let's move on, we'll do the Castle thing. And yes, Roman Catholics
are not Orthodox, they came out of the Byzantine Empire of Eastern
Europe fame (Constantinople). BUT, The observance had its origins
in the eastern Christian churches. The west generally acknowledges
a twelve-day festival, starting on December 25, and ending on
January 5, known as Christmastide or the twelve days of Christmas.
	So there, Michael!

Along the way we saw a trolley car

And old men having coffee on the street! A classic!

	Welcome to Castel Sant'Angelo
Home of tapestries, frescoes and Emperor Hadrian, of Hadrian Wall
	Fame, if nothing else
Actually, he was a pretty big guy in Roman history, I know this
because I know of him. And if someone as ignorant of history as me
can know about him, then by George he's gotta have accomplished
	something.
But it is strange but I never read anything about him in any of my
Asterix and Obelix books, where most of my Roman history comes
	from.

yup
