So, here I go to another country, the Czech Republic. A little trivia for you here, Czechoslovakia, which is what we usually think of actually means Czech & Slovakia. So now they are broken and we have the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Peter, my guide at net-linx is from Slovakia. So we headed off in the morning for a lunch appointment with his sister who lives in Prague. Or Prag if you are German, or Praha if you are a Czech. It was only 150 km, but it took us 3 hours to get there. Small twisty roads. My first impression of the country was that it is poorer than Germany, for sure. Then I saw all the communist-built buildings with their total lack of style and dirty look, mostly from burning coal. Not great. But that's the people part of the country. The country is rolling land and very, very scenic. Even in January. They too have castles here as you shall soon see. And pretty ones at that. Directions ...
First impression of Czech Republic
My second image of the Czech Republic, a castle in the mist that I chanced upon while driving to Prague
A combination of the first two photographs would look something like this...
Catch the porkchop sideburns. Remember when Burt Reynolds had them in Gator?
Country side just outside Prague. Pretty, even in January
