Warren's Brazil Trip

Soccer in Brazil, a must! I missed my chance the last time I was here
because I didn't know it was on. But this time I was ready. Their season
ends in September, so we are down to the quarter-finals right now, I think.
It is all on pay-per-view here.

I have to apologize for the quality of the shots, the game started at 9:45
p.m. and the lighting was not great for taking pictures. But you'll get the
sense of it, I think

What amazed me the most was the protection needed for visiting team
supporters. They sit in the endzone area and are totally barricaded in with
high steel fences with 4 layers of barb wire on top of them, and a full
cadre of armed police officers with riot helmets on either side.

And the enthusiasm! WoW! These people definitely get in to their game.
Canadians just don't have that enthusiasm level! EVER.

Fuzzy shot, as are most of them, of cops protecting the visiting team fans

Count'em, 14 cops in just this one picture

Hey, a Brazilian soccer game!

Soccer field, barb wire, moat, barb wire, DMZ, barb wire, fans - get the picture?
