Warren's Brazil Trip

		_____________________________________________________________________

So what do you do when you first get to Brazil? SLEEP!
Don't be crazy, this is a 24 hour flight!

Porto Alegre is a very interesting mix of people. It is probably 50/50
		on Europeans and native Brazilians.

Porto Alegre is about 1.5 million, the white population being primarily
		Germans or Italians in descent.

An interesting mix of people, highly reminiscent of Axis forces from
days of old. Hmmmmmm, I wonder! I'm being fascetious so allow me to give
you some history, just for the fun of it:

Porto Alegre, the largest city in the south of Brazil, is the capital of
the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

The city was founded in 1742 by immigrants from the Azores.

Since the 19th century the city has received numerous German and Italian
		settlers.

Lying as it does at the junction of five rivers, it has become an
important port as well as one of the chief industrial and commercial
		centers in Brazil.

Products of the rich agricultural and pastoral hinterland, such as
leather, canned beef, and rice, are exported from Porto Alegre to
destinations as far away as Africa and Japan.

Social Study course is now over.

So where is this place I am at:

If you are curious as to what it looks like, and assuming this webcam

Interesting thing here is that our hotel is just out of camera view to the left

Brazil has an interesting restaurant experience called a

		                 CHURRASCARIA

You have to love meat for this one to work. And especially beef!

There were 22 kinds of skewered meat with sausage, pork, lamb, and especially beef
rounding out the list. People walk around with skewers of the various cuts of
meat and if you want some, they slice you off a chunk and then you power down
on it until the next skewer-carrier walks by. Load up again and continue until
		you drop.
