On the Hyde Street cable car looking at Alcatraz
In the next few months look for an Expedia ad that will feature an almost identical shot like this next shot with a door on the right hand side of the picture that a person walks through as their 'portal' to a vacation. I was standing next to the photographer that is doing the Expedia series. I don't know if it will make its way to the Canadian Expedia advertising campaign.

Interestingly enough, I thought that the island would be farther out from shore than it actually was. They kept saying in the Escape from Alcatraz that the swim should have finished him off. It did not appear to be an impossible distance.
